How much is a barbering program in New York City?

Our Master Barber Program and Express Barber Program each have a total tuition of $4,500. You can enroll with a $1,000 down payment and pay the remaining balance in $200 weekly installments throughout your program — no large upfront payment required.

Please note that the Express Barber Program requires verifiable proof of 400 Hours of apprenticeship experience or 200 Hours of Classroom Instruction in Cosmetology or Esthetics. More details on each program’s requirements can be found on a respectful program pages.

How much is a cosmetology program in New York City?

The total tuition cost of our Cosmetology Program is $8,000. You start with a $1,200 down payment and then pay $200 per week for the rest of the program. The payment plan is designed to spread the cost across your 8 months of training.

Do I have to pay the full tuition upfront?

No, we don’t require a lump sum payment. All major programs come with a flexible payment plan: you pay a down payment to secure your enrollment, then continue with weekly installments of $200 for the remainder of your program. You pay as you train.

What is included in the tuition cost?

Tuition covers all instruction, hands-on training with real clients, access to our fully equipped salon facility in Rego Park, Queens, and preparation for the New York State licensing exam.

Students are also required to purchase a professional tool kit — your admissions advisor can provide details on the current kit cost.

Is financial aid or funding available for barber or cosmetology school?

Tribeca Barber & Beauty School offers an in-house payment plan to make tuition manageable. How long does it take to complete a barber program in NYC?

Our Master Barber Program is 510 hours and typically takes about 4 months to complete. The Express Barber Program is 360 hours and takes approximately 3 months. Both programs are available on morning, afternoon, and weekend schedules to fit most students’ lifestyles.

Can I work while attending barber or cosmetology school?

Yes — our programs are offered in flexible morning, afternoon, and weekend schedules so you can continue working while you train. Many of our students balance employment and their studies throughout the program.

What license will I earn after completing a program?

Graduates of both barber programs become eligible to sit for the New York State Barber Operator Exam and earn a Master Barber License.

Cosmetology graduates are prepared to take the New York State Cosmetology Board Examination and obtain a cosmetology license.

State exams are held at our school twice a month.

Is the Hair Extensions Program included in cosmetology tuition?

The Hair Extensions Program is a separate 2-day workshop and is not included in cosmetology tuition. It is open to both cosmetology students and graduates who want to add hair extension techniques to their skill set. Contact our admissions team for current pricing and scheduling.
