Basic Admission Requirements
All students legally residing in the United States must meet the following basic requirements for admission to the educational barbering and cosmetology programs of the Tribeca Barber & Beauty School:
Admission Age
All students applying for the course must be at least 17 years of age.
Address
Proof of your residential address in the United States
Photo ID
A valid photo identification document or a valid Driver's License
High School Diploma
High School Diploma (HSD) or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
Social Security Card
A valid Social Security Number or a Tax Identification Number
Down Payment
Upon registration, all students must make an initial payment in the amount determined for each course
Advanced Program Requirements
In addition to the basic admission requirements above, some of our advanced barbering programs require compliance with additional eligibility requirements:
Proof of Experience
Verifiable proof of 400 Hours of apprenticeship experience or 200 Hours of Classroom in Cosmetology or Esthetics.
International Student Requirements
We are pleased to welcome international students from all over the world to our school. In order to enroll in our educational barbering and cosmetology programs, foreign students must provide the following additional data or meet the following additional requirements, in addition to the basic requirements:
M-1 Student Visa
All international students must posses a valid M-1 visa
Document Translation
Foreign documents must be translated and notarized before being submitted
Notary Certification
The authenticity of foreign issued documents must be certified by a public notary.
International Student Optional Requirements
International students may use some optional requirements to help them to comply with admission requirements
Scholastic Level Exam
International Students without a valid High School Diploma (HSD) or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) may take the Scholastic Level Exam to comply with the eligibility requirements
